Alabama coming after Purnell?
posted by LW, Friday, February 20, 2009
In this column by longtime Birmingham News columnist Kevin Scarbinsky, Purnell is on the list of potential replacements for Mark Gottfried.
This should be no surprise, because this is what happens when someone does what OP has done at a place like Clemson.
I wouldn't be surprised if Purnell listened, but I would be surprised if he left for a place like Alabama.
He's an ACC guy, and it might take a hefty offer to seriously consider uprooting and moving to SEC country.
Alabama, of course, has proven quite capable of throwing lots of money at people.
This means Terry Don Phillips and Clemson must be prepared to give OP what he thinks he deserves. I think they are.
