Halftime thoughts

Man, the Tigers wasted an opportunity to send the Yellow Jackets into halftime demoralized.
Clemson swiped the momentum and was up 33-31 when Trevor Booker scored inside with 1:58 left, but the Tigers couldn't score from there.
David Potter turned it over; Demontez Stitt missed the front end of a one-and-one; and the Tigers missed two shots on their final possession (a 3 by Stitt, and a follow by Booker).
-- If you're Oliver Purnell, I guess you're happy about the 17-2 run that erased a 15-point deficit. But what in the world is Clemson doing down 15 against Georgia Tech?
The offense looked listless for a large portion of the first half, and that sounds familiar with this team. Same deal last week at Virginia. Same deal at Boston College and Virginia Tech. Somewhat the same deal Tuesday at home against Maryland.
-- The root of the offensive struggles, as always, is an inability to get Booker the ball. That puts the ball in the hands of guys (Raymond Sykes, Jerai Grant) who just aren't skilled enough on the offensive end. It also entices too many quick shots from the perimeter.
Of course, it's not easy for Booker to get the ball when he's going against Georgia Tech's bigs. The Jackets went with some zone in the first half to make it even more difficult to work the ball inside. I thought the guards missed him a few times in the low block when he was open, though.
-- Nice work by Potter to spark the Tigers on the offensive end. He swished three 3-pointers during the aforementioned 17-2 run.
-- Guess I was wrong about Georgia Tech being in the tank. They're sloppy as heck and commit some mindless turnovers, but they're still playing hard.
-- Terrence Oglesby has been plagued by the flu, and you can tell. He was a step slow in the first half, particularly on the defensive end. He's scoreless on 0-for-3 shooting.
-- Ten turnovers for the Tigers. That's too many. Georgia Tech has 13, though.
-- Tigers have nine assists on their 11 baskets, six by Stitt and two by Tanner Smith.
