Halftime thoughts

With Clemson up 38-35 at halftime, there's zero indication this one will be any different.
This is one physical, intense game. Trevor Booker came to play (15 points, 6 rebounds), and so far he's had the upper hand on Jeff Allen, who has missed five of six shots and has pulled down just one rebound.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, things don't go particularly smoothly on the offensive end when Booker is on the bench. Raymond Sykes can't hold onto the ball when it's passed to him (no shocker there), and he can't finish when he gets the ball near the rim (no shocker there, either).
The Tigers are going through long stretches of offensive struggles. Booker scored on a drive with 15:58 left to put Clemson up seven, but the Tigers mustered just one basket over the next five minutes.
Booker scored on a nice spin move with 7:37 left to put Clemson up five, but the Tigers went scoreless over the next three minutes while committing turnovers on three straight possessions. They could've created some separation with some points there, because Virginia Tech was going through a scoreless stretch of its own.
Clemson has committed 12 turnovers, and seven have come from the reserves. Virginia Tech went just 7-of-13 from the line in the first half.
Clemson is shooting 50 percent, Virginia Tech 38.7.
This stat could end up being key: Booker has zero fouls, and Allen has two.

Since Virginia Tech began ACC play in 2004-05, all seven of the games between these two have been decided by five points or less.
