Ron Prince ... richest special-teams coach ever

Because Prince has plenty of it.
Prince's secret deal with Kansas State's former AD is one of the more bizarre stories you'll ever see.
Apparently the two negotiated a $5 million buyout after Prince guided the Wildcats to a spectacular 7-6 record in 2006 ... including 37-10 loss to Rutgers in the Texas Bowl.
More on the scandal here.
Don't tell Jack Leggett last night's 11-inning win over North Carolina was meaningless. He thinks the victory, sealed by Wilson Boyd before a partisan UNC crowd in Durham, was the perfect way to create some momentum for the NCAA Tournament.
This was just what Jack Leggett wanted.
His whole roster, rushing out of the third-base dugout to mob Wilson Boyd at second base.
An entire first-base line full of rival fans wearing baby blue silenced.
And a huge, momentum-starting win headed into the NCAA tournament.
Clemson got all of that Saturday afternoon, thanks to Boyd’s 11th-inning smash to the left field scoreboard that clinched a 4-3 win over North Carolina in both teams’ final game of pool play at the ACC tournament inside Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Virginia or Duke will face Florida State in today’s 1 p.m. ACC title game.
“If I had to draw it up, it’d be this type of ballgame,” Leggett said. “A tight ballgame where we had to have some emotion, be tough in the dugout, get some outs in the top of an inning where we didn’t score…. To face a good pitcher, a good team, I don’t think you could have drawn it up any better to end the tournament with that type of game.”
East Carolina's Skip Holtz says he's committed to staying in Greenville, N.C. He also says many coaches are in favor of a playoff. Paging Jim Delany...
Check out this video clip of some Cleveland TV anchors reacting to LeBron James' game-winning shot. Not exactly a Walter Cronkite moment.
Heather Dinich looks into her crystal ball and says Duke will beat someone it's not supposed to in 2009.
The Rivals Roundtable explores what hot assistant will be a head coach next season, and Florida's Charlie Strong is a popular name.
David Teel says Virginia Tech's non-conference schedule is stout.
