They're in the money

The Bulldogs' athletics department is losing $3 million thanks to a decline in season-ticket revenue, a drop for which Georgia blames the economy.
Recession? What recession?
Georgia's 2010 revenues still project to increase by 8.5 million bucks.
It's largely the result of the new TV deals the SEC signed with ESPN and CBS -- deals that amount to about $3 billion over 15 years.
In this article by the AJC's Tim Tucker, Georgia AD Damon Evans says the deal will translate into an extra $5.5 mil per school starting in 2010.
The league said it will distribute approximately $132.5 million equally to the 12 member schools for the fiscal year that ends Aug. 31 — the largest distribution in league history and up 4 percent from last year’s $127.6 million.
This year’s distribution comes to $11.04 million for each SEC school. At Georgia, that represents about 14 percent of the fiscal 2009 athletics budget.
By my math, that's $16.9 million per school.
Yikes.
Another notable from the SEC meetings: The conference passes the Houston Nutt Rule.
What a great day for baseball yesterday at Doug Kingsmore (and according to the weather forecast, it promises to be just as nice today).
There just can't be many atmospheres better than Clemson's both inside and outside the stadium.
Clemson fans, of course, walked away happy after some harrowing moments.
Something I probably should have made more of in our game story was the impressive showing by reliever Graham Stoneburner, who settled down after two wild pitches and tossed almost five innings of shutout ball with just two hits and five strikeouts to keep the deficit at one run.
Here's The State's story, plus a look at Ok. State.
Sorry to cut it short. Got a tee time!

It's hard to feel sorry for Georgia.
