Riveting stuff in the ACC
posted by LW, Saturday, September 12, 2009

When Stanford vs. Wake Forest and UNC vs. Connecticut are the highlights of the ACC's Saturday docket, it doesn't make for a particularly riveting day.
Jacksonville State, Murray State, James Madison, Army.
Boy, can't wait.
Look out for JMU, though. They're from the mighty Colonial Athletic Conference, which has just as much claim to a BCS bid as the ACC at this point.
Interested to get a look at TCU against Virginia.
Oops. Never mind. It's on ESPNU(navailable).
Some follow-up stuff from Clemson's narrow loss in the ATL...
I think we learned a lot about this team, yet there's still a lot left to learn.
The State's Paul Strelow sums it up nicely in this column.
Scott Michaux of The Augusta Chronicle admires Clemson's resilience.
While Clemson suffered the loss, it mitigated the damage by displaying a resilience that's been missing far too long. Instead of the kind of embarrassing defeat like the 'Bama beatdown that triggered the eventual mid-season firing of head coach Tommy Bowden, the Tigers showed the kind of guts that might spell opportunity for the energetic young Dabo Swinney.
Good blog stuff from The Post and Courier's Travis Sawchik, who reflects on the vampire hours he kept Friday morning.
Gene Sapakoff makes his Saturday picks, and you have to love his prediction for Mississippi State-Auburn.
The ACC Sports Journal thinks Kyle Parker is the real deal.
Gonna go ahead and sign off now. A day of college football beckons.
Full disclosure: This blog entry was mailed in.
