Not a whole lot going on out there today.
Actually, that's a bit of a fib.
In a rush to get out to Oliver Purnell's media golf outing.
You do remember basketball, don't you?
Of course you do, with the football program 2-3 and all.
Lot of pundits are picking OP's bunch to finish sixth or seventh or eighth in the ACC. If that's the expectation, then I think the Tigers are gonna surprise a lot of folks this season.
Bart Wright says the gridiron Tigers have to finish 5-2 to be bowl-eligible, but SID Tim Bourret told me that's not true given that Clemson has just one Division I-AA tomato can on the schedule instead of two (a la last year).

Travis Sawchik of the P&C has an account of yesterday's teleconference with Dat Boy.
Heather Dinich asked Swinney some very pointed questions yesterday.
Ron Morris of The State says fans are being too rash in their criticism of Swinney.
That is not to say Clemson has a future Hall of Famer in Swinney. But who knows at this stage of the game? Can we really judge Swinney's coaching future based on five games? Is it fair to measure Swinney on one game in which his team looked ill-prepared and poorly coached?
Hardly. Give the guy a chance. Most coaches get at least three full seasons to prove their worth. Swinney deserves that, if not more.
Clemson is not even taking in water, yet its fans already are jumping ship.
More on Dabo in the Independent-Mail.
Virginia has won 10 of its last 11 games in October. Who knew?
And remember when some buffoon at TI ranked North Carolina's John Shoop among the top five offensive coordinators in the ACC?
That appraisal doesn't look very bright right now.
OK ... time to go work on my putting. 'Cause I darn sure am not going to be very dependable today with any other club in my hand.
