What, you thought the blog would rest on Thanksgiving?
Not when it's Clemson-South Carolina week.
Still can't get used to the game falling two days after Turkey Day.
Here's an abbreviated batch of links to satisfy that football jones.
In The State, Ron Morris says Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele should stay home and rest up to get his mind right for next week's battle with Paul Johnson.
That was a joke.
Ron is a nice guy and a good friend. I'll disagree with his columns from time to time, and he doesn't have a problem with it. Just having a little fun with his call to sit C.J. Spiller on Saturday.
In The State, a story on Stephen Garcia's progress.
I've been impressed with him this season. He made a great play against Florida by eluding the rush and feathering a touchdown pass to Weslye Saunders in the back right corner of the end zone. And later, he spectacularly eluded several Gators while weaving for a first down.
Looks like he can be a good one. Back when this kid was spending more time in courtrooms than on the field, who'd have thought he'd end up accomplishing more than Willy Korn?
In The Post and Courier, is the Gamecocks' offense better this season than last? Good question. They do look better in some ways, but a bad offensive line has really hurt.
Bob Gillespie of The State has a good story on Kyle Parker's development.
Who's the better QB right now, Parker or Garcia?
Hard to say, and that's quite a compliment for Parker.
Maybe we'll have a better idea at 3:30 on Saturday.
Paul Strelow has an interesting story on how Dalton Freeman got to Clemson.
Heather Dinich of ESPN.com says the Tigers must overcome South Carolina's stingy defense.
Andrew Moore of the Seneca paper has a good breakdown of Saturday's game.
No turkey for the basketball team today. The Tigers hope to sink their teeth into some Aggies from Texas A&M.
That's it for now. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
